Actually way back when I was about 12 I did it with vacuum tubes. I'm quite serious about that. I read it in an old magazine that you can remove the glass envelope of a vacuum tube with hot wire. I opened up several tubes and put my own wire creations in there along with small 6V flashlight bulbs running on less voltage (to glow orange).

Glad to see you back, and I love the light bulb. Just because is always the best reason for art.
Thank you!
Hey! Awesome! You're back!!!
And, I *heart* the lightbulb. The necklace is cool, too. My daughter likes it. I think that is a hint for me.
That lightbulb is pretty fantastic. ;-)
Thank you! The light bulb wasn't difficult, just time consuming.
The bulb was an unexpected gift and surprised him. I think it will challenge him to make something on his own.
i always thought that the steampunk projects were most impressive - a LOT of time and energy for something stylish yet geeky, have you done others?
the necklace is way cool too - you are talented folk!
cheers!
Thanks, Jambaloney!

Micro-Tesla coil that'd fit inside a light bulb and powered just by screwing it in?
Hmmmmmmmm!
